Photo journalism...? salary and job overview..? |
I am trying to figure out my future and i love photography and I think being a journalist would be awesome but how much do photo journalists typically make? I want to have enough money to adopt 3 kids from africa and support 2 of my own but I want to be able to travel at the same time. How much traveling does a photojournalist do?? Photojournalism, TV or Print? Well, I am a Photojournalist, and in the market I am currently in, I make a little under $70k a year. Keep in mind, I am in Market 27, which is pretty high up. Make it to the top 5 and you may clear upward of 100k a year. Print is very different. Local newspapers won't be able to pay much, but magazines will pay much more, of course they are much harder to break into. The industry, lately can be hard to get into, especially today. But if it's what you love, go for it. Again, as far as travel goes, depends on who your working for. TV will often have you stay in the state your in. Magazines, could be all over the world. |
