Am I a horrible girlfriend? |
So I have this boyfriend, that I met about a year and a half ago. I love him so much, and we're planning our future together, but there is this one problem: Sometimes I feel like he has no ambition. He's confessed to me that he loves photography, and would want to make a career out of it, and I really want him to apply to art schools to get more training. He says he wants to as well, but he hasn't taken any steps in the last few months, not even researching schools! All I want is for him to find his dream job, and live it, or at least try, but maybe I'm being too hard on him, I know he doesn't have the funds to go to art school, and maybe he's afraid of failure... But sometimes it makes me question whether I can be with someone like him. Anyone? Am I being horrible? You're not a horrible girlfriend. Every relationship has its doubts. Since you say you're planning your future together, it's probably a time when you'll be thinking hard and second-guessing a lot of things. Maybe you could try gently urging him to make some decisions? No you're not horrible. Tell him he can get scholarships and loans. He should go to school to foster his talents. yes you are I don't think you are being horrible... you can't plan a future with someone who can't plan a future for themselves. I feel this way about my boyfriend sometimes too.. but we are young so i can't worry. I get the impression you are older and it makes sense to think about these things. Money shouldn't be an issue if you love someone.. but i think ambition is very important! You're not being horrible, you want him to succeed. That's not bad. And a lot of people have feelings like that when they see no future (no matter what kind of future). if your trying your best then your a great girlfriend. at least you recoginze his amibitions and want to help him reach them. if you can try harder, then go for it yo. No, reasonable. It takes money to live. That is a fact. |
