What would you suggest?? Im completely clueless.? |
I would like to get into modeling while i am young. Everyone I come across always encourages me too, but its too bad i dont come across any big time agents. I live in a small town not too many big shots...i have a good paying job right now but its not something to stick with for a career. I work fulltime.. barely have any extra money to put towards an education. Which i need to because my parents still have not filed their taxes for 2005 and therefore i do not qualify for financial aid. I live on my own on a lease. Im 18 years old single, and my credit score is 702 through experian but only have one open account. I want to get my AA in business and possibly take some extra classes for management and web design. I want to do photography as well as modeling. But i know that modeling only gets me so far. Once i age they will throw me away like trash. SO i want a back up plan. I have 2+ years in customer service. I have my GED. and i would like to have a BA Majoring in business is a good idea because if you ever break into modeling or photography you'll be better able to manage your own career instead of relying on possibly sketchy modeling agents. And if you're worried about getting too old to model, having a business degree will definitely help you in finding another career. You could possibly model for local advertising agencies or magazines, which you could use to start building a portfolio to send to bigger modeling agencies. Is there a public community college system in your area? If so, the tuition should be low enough so that you could possibly do without financial aid. That will get you as far as an AA. You could then transfer into a 4-year university as a junior for your BA. Good luck. Since you really don't have the funds to finance anything. Try to make an appointment with a guidance counselor at your local high school or university. You may even ask around to see a social worker that will be willing to help at no charge.
