Want to be voted for Historian in NJHS, but I have competition; help, please?


I'm in the National Junior Honor Society and I want to be the Historian because I enjoy photography, scrap-booking, and art in general. It would really mean a lot that I get the job, but there are at least two other people, one who I don't really like, and the other is more of an acquaintance than friend. All we're really doing to get to be Historian is being nominated and then voted for. The person I don't like seemed to be snooping around me slightly when I was coming up with scrap-book ideas in art today to decorate the bullitein board with. I'm hoping she's not trying to steal any of my ideas. I have a week before voting time, and I need a lot of sugestions as to how to become the Historian. Can you help me? Please!!!!!!!!!!

You like photography and scrap booking (historian usually also involves taking meeting minutes so keep that in mind), so if those are your hobbies than you must have some home version (if you don't- get a move on it). You could try circulating your work, showing it off, even if its a trip your family took to the beach. But if your competition is "snooping" they aren't really capable of the job now are they, the wonderful thing about school politics is that when the elected individual doesn't do their job they loose it. SO if she/he does manage to steal it from you, just hang around doing her job in secret, when she lets the club down, step up to the plate.
Try to see what some past historians have done and then try to improve on that. Explain your ideas to the group before the vote and how excited you are to be historian and to try new ideas.
