How does one find the courage to go from secure job to being a self -employed photographer? I'm at this?

crossroads where i've been building my photography business on the side and want to make the move to leave the office job behind me and start having the life i dream of... freedom. I'm forty now and have worked "for the man" since the age of 17.... but do i have the courage to fly? How does one know if they're ready to take that giant step? any advice from anyone and I'd also like to hear from those who have taken the plunge?

Just do it! Like others have done. If you're afraid of failing, you'll never succeed. If you fail, try it again. I've started 5 busineses. Two were disasters. Three are extremely profitable.
I would ask myself. Do I have enough work coming in , with my new venture to be able to support myself? Can I still pay my mortgage? If you answer yes to these, then I would go for it. Good Luck with whatever you choose.
