What is the best SLR camera with a lot of features and effects?

I am looking for an SLR Camera for under 800 Dollars. I want it to have a lot of features that are easy to use - such as in camera picture effects. I dont want a camera with the same ol color burst, sepia blah blah. I want something with some pizazz like different built in filters, fish eye lens, or other. I also need to be able to attatch lenses and it must be at least 7 megapixels... HELP! - I have a Sony DSC F717 right now and its just not doin the job for my photography... www.myspace.com/janelle84 take a look and let me know what to buy!

My first reaction was to not recommend a DSLR if you want 'effects'. But I checked out your page and you've got some talent and really enjoy photography, so perhaps the cost and weight of a DSLR will be worth it for you.

That said- you can't really go wrong with any of the entry level DSLRs from Canon, Nikon, Pentax or even Olympus. If you like the live-view on an LCD, you might want to check out the Oly's. they're small, fully featured and cheap. (E-410 for instance).

As was said, none of the DLSRs will offer these 'toy' features. Use one of the many photo programs for effects. Start with Picasa2 (it's free), then invest $80 in Photoshop Elements and start learning. PE is an incredibly powerful program for the price.Hm DSLRs doesn't have "effects," you create the effects like multiple exposure or slow exposure by yourself.

Most DSLR can accept optical filter - but I'm sure you don't mean this. Optical filter are better but can be expensive depending on model and size.

DSLR are lens interchangeable.

You can get a fish eye lens for a DSLR. It's not going to be cheap - so it could be a good idea to do it in Photoshop at first.

What kind of job do you want for your photography?

DSLRs are not easy to use - you're gonna need to take classes or at least learn a lot about photography at first.

For something under $800 I'd recommend Nikon D40 (or the older D50/D70 if you can find it), or the Canon Rebel XT/XTi.
My advice is the Canon EOS Rebel XTI. It is a 10 meg SLR. I shoot pics on a rookie level..but i am learning. I bought it because i had a Canon EOS Rebel 35mm since i was in high school. It just lately went sick on me. I think you can get this camera with a 35mm leans for around $800 not including warranty. Hope this did some good.

Effects should all be done using a digital darkroom program like Photoshop, Corel, Picusa2 or for some amazing effects, PhotoFiltre.

There are some point and shoot cameras that have some wimpy effects included, but they are just a few bells and whistles to entice people to buy them.

If you include a lens even the Nikon D40 may be over your budget depending upon the lens you choose. Features wise, both Nikon and Canon have great features although the Canon XTi is over $800 body only.
