I write songs, i play guitar, i like to do photography. what can i do take make quick money right now? |
i am 18 and i can't hold a regular job. i live with my mother who is disabled and we are a little below the poverty level. i want to make money right away by using my talents but i don't know how. any tips, experiances, and suggestions/ advice is well appreciated! There are many ways to make money with your talents. If you love photography, you can photograph weddings or listen to the police radio for freeway accidents. Insurance companies will pay good money for accident pictures. Or you can stalk celebrities and sell the pictures to tabloids. A paparazzo can make $100,000 a year or more this way. Obviously, if you a good guitar player, you can make money playing in a band, or even setting up on a sidewalk in a tourist area and playing for donations. If you can write songs, you can probably also write other materials that could make some money -- maybe you could write feature articles for your local paper or advertising material for local businesses. There is an old adage that "talent will out." This simply means that your true talents will be realized, one way or another. Good luck to you. Get people to hear your music and you may get signed! The internet is a place. MySpace might be something to check. Sorry I've only had the Internet for a week and don't know too many good sites. Some radio stations and Channel 4 try to help new talents be known. Look at their websites. Capital FM, XFM, Virgin, BBC Radio 1, Kiss 100. It may be difficult to break huge labels like Sony, Warner-Bros, Universal, etc. but small, independent labels may be interested and may be your step to getting the attention of the big music record label companies. Because you also have a knack for photography, you can play a big part in designing your own CD covers and photo shoots (when you become famous!) Ask to book gigs in cafes and clubs, there's bound to be a talent scout or radio DJ there. Kate Nash started out booking gigs and a lot famous artists still do gigs regularly like Beverley Knight. If you need money right away, photography and music are not the answer.
