Impressice for college? |
I'm currently a freshman in highschool, and I'm aware that i might be a little too young to worry about college, but how does this sound for my resume so far?... *I take part in Albany Park where you go to an elementary school in south chicago and help kids with science projects and crafts (community service) *I kind of have a job... you come in early before school or your sudy hall and help clean out supplies for photography, you get paid $8.50 per hour... "fake job" photography assistant * I will take part on the advisory board for my camp where you plan reunions, activities, some charity work, and ideas for next summer * I haven't decided yet, but possibly I might join Relay for life which is also considered community service *In the spring I will try out for either soccer or xcountry impressive for a start? ... i didn't include my grades so far cause school just started Wow.. that sounds pretty good to me. You must be busy! All those things will look good on your resume, but remember: colleges look for dedication. Being part of the same 3 community service clubs for 4 years looks better than 10 if you only stick to each one for a year. Also, do something you are passionate about - don't just do it to get into a college, they will see right through you. Also, make sure you have time for homework etc., because it's still the grades are stil what matter most. EDIT Cattbarf, she's a Freshman, and this is answers, not English class. What snide remarks? Stop showing off. And you should be encouraging her, not being a wet blanket. Hate to throw cold water on you, since you appear to be a serious person, but the grammar in your resume is awful. Be more precise and avoid snide comments. #1. I am a counselor in the Albany Park community service program in South Chicago. I help elementary school students at { } School with science and crafts projects { } hours a week. #2. I have a part-time school job assisting in preparing the photography laboratory for the school day. I work [ ] hours weekly. Keep plans short, after all, you may not do them. PS, doesn't cross-county run in the fall? |
