I suspect I can't do this.
I found a really bad photoshopped image in a magazine and wanted to share it on answers/photography to see if you agree . Not sure If I'd be in trouble for breach of copyright.. Advice would be appreciated please. :o) It's better to be safe than sorry. You may not be aware that I posted a link to a website recently asking for opinions on a certain photographer. I didn't think in a million years that photographer would know about it. A week later, he contacted me about it.
You could link it to a private forum maybe (wink wink, nudge nudge). Bahh, we won't out you.
Not sure it's breech if your not making money, but i'm no expert on copyright... Well you are treading a thin line there. If you are showing the image as an educational tool, then perhaps.
If in doubt, link the image and we can view the image from our own computer, then you will not have downloaded the image in violation of copyright law, but only linking us to the site where it is available for all to see in any case. im involved in a suit now over reproduction of my work, so its a hot topic for me
dont worry theres heaps of bad photoshopping going on all the time, as a fellow artist maybe its best you practice the right thing..........its a real issue with me that people ask if its legal or not, why dont they ask if its right or wrong??
so i would say no, why risk it, and i think its wrong
a I think technically it isnt an illegal thing. If its a social, non commercial posting.
I know Antoni and others wont agree, but..., if you want to, go ahead.
Feds come after you, tell em I said to back off. yes you are correct, breech of copyright/misuse of interest laws. |
