What steps should i take to become a magazine editor? |
im a senior in high school and i am about to graduate. i would like to know what my major should be. I think it should be journalism. but do i need photography and communications too. comm may be helpful since they'll teach you how to write for adverstising, ad copy, and general copy writing knowledge. I graduated with a degree in Comm with an emphasis in Advertising and I'm currently working as a Copy Editor for an internet company...i'd say it came in handy. if you're planning to do photojournalism, then take photography, otherwise i don't think it's required...although it is fun from what i've heard...not to mention expensive. start writing now...see if you can intern for a local newspaper (which is what i did) and take those journalism courses in college. Major in either Journalism, communications, or English |
