Looking for a photograph from the 1940's by a French-sounding photographer?

I'm looking for a photograph from around the 1940s by a French-sounding photographer; its of a womans face in black & white and the best way I can describe it is "haunting". It was featured in a story in Allue magazine a few years ago, and I cut out the photo, but I threw away the caption and I wanted to order a print of the photo for my home. Anyone that is familiar with photography if you could please help me, I would appreciate it.

I think that Cartier Bression is also a good hint. Try it. Source(s): French native
I think it's Cartier-Bresson but I'm probably off a little.
I hope this helps.
