Could i do this for a career?

I'm 16 and thinking of photography for a career. i want to work for a magazine like national geographic or something where i can travel. but im diabetic so would they allow me to be a photographer becuase sometimes they have to enter harsh conditions and stuff.also any other advise would be appreciated.

start off as a freelance,[u can do that NOW] human interest photos with a nice short and caption and a nice little by line of course. after you get published a few times, you can make a portfolio of your best work as samples.
so you have diabetes..be prepared for anything, pick and choose the locations, and always make sure you have stuff like your insulin and candy bars and fruit juice etc,,,dont let that stop you, follow your dream.
if you set your mind to something you can do anything you want to do!
My advice is to see if you can find the name and contact information for a photographer for National Geographic (through Google is probably your best bet) and let them know what you hope to do and your question. It might take a while, but they'll probably get back to you on it.
Well my mom is a diabetic. But they don't tell her not to travel. I don't know what type of diabetes you have, but if you have to take insulin then remember to always have that with you and you should be OK. Doing things like that in extreme conditions doesn't matter. As you probably all ready know diabetes is a disease that calls the pancreas to not work properly. What the pancreas does is regulate your blood sugar in your body. You can only effect that by what you eat not where your at are what you do. You understand?
Do job hunters check the health condition of ppl they try to recruit? I do not think so. But for your own good, why not be a photographer for wedding couples? It would be hectic no doubt but it would not be too harsh for you.
