A magazine using my photography? Any documents needed to be signed?

I am making contact with a magazine and curious if I should have some sort of document expressing my ownership of the photograph/s and allowing use of them? Would a document like this be binding? My main concern is for example if I allow Time Life to use my photograph they can not allow another magazine or subsidiary use them and at all times I have full rights of the images.

Use the "Photographers Market 2007" from Amazon. It not only will answer your questions it will guide you into better leads.

You auto matically have the rights and need a release signed by you to give them up.

Get the book and study it for more answers.
