What colleges should I look at?

I'm a junior in high school and I have some ideas about where to go to college. I want to be a journalism/communications major and possibly a photography or Spanish minor.

I live in Georgia, and since I'm qualified for Hope Scholarship, I would rather go to a public, in-state university so that I can get the max. benefits. I don't want to be too close to home, which is pretty much any college.

I've been researching and researching, and no where I've seen is perfect for me.

I want to go to a four-year college that offers my major and minor and has great dorms and is in a great location. Can someone recommend anywhere to me?! I'm going crazy over this already!
thanks!

First off, congrats on being such a studious individual as most students don't realize how important it is to begin their respective college searches as early as their sophomore year of high school. In seeing that you are interested in journalism, your first step should be looking into jounalism programs throughout Georgia. You want to check the schools out on paper first and then possibly email the chairperson of the Journalism departments. Once you hear a response from them, you may want to pay a visit as this may make or break your decision.

Lastly, I'm sure that financial aid/scholarships is an important part in making your selection for college. There are many Historically Black Colleges and Universities in Georgia and though this may sound silly, you may be eligible for scholarship dollars simply for being WHITE. That's right! The reason for this is that these wonderful schools are constantly looking to diversify their student bodies, and Caucasian students tend to go off to traditional universities. So you (if you are a Caucasian student) may be eligible to receive scholarship dollars for being an "underrepresented minority" if you choose to attend such a school.
