Where should I start my film and photograph career? |
I have found what my interest are and that is film and photography. Now that I know what I want to do, where do I start my career? I'm a freshman at college but what can I do to develop my skills in this area of expertise? Is there a special school to learn this stuff? Try to intern or do a part-time in a photo studio. Definitely get involved in art at your college and look into going to art school after you're done with bachelor's. But no matter how many classes you take, you'll never learn as well as you would in a studio. Good luck I suggest you start by finding an art school in your area. Also, get a job at a film developing shop; you get experience and discounts on equipment! Im a senior in high school and debating about possibly entering the film industry :) i think the key is location. the better location the more opportunitise there are to make your career a success. furthermore if you are able to make connections in college through itnernships, you will create necessary connections to make your career successful. i would suggest new york, chicago, la, sante fe, miami florida good luck! PRACTICE is very important. You want to take lots of photos so that when you apply to a specialized course or school, you will get in. With photography what matters most is the quality of your skill, not what school you went to, however going to school will teach you the basics you need to know about photography. It depends what type of photography and film you want to do as well. There are courses for commercial photography, and art photography. It will take a few years of work, volunteering your time to shoot models or subjects, before you get a paid positition. You have to be very passionate and competitive in this area to make it a fulltime job. Full service photography cine school is a good start. They will cram a lot of beginning stuff down you so that you won't be saying. Duh, I didn't know that when the director ask you to get him a SCRIM. |
