I am afraid of being a mediocre! serious problem, please help? |
ok, i am 17 years old girl. i want to be a doctor and my school grades are perfect. i play piano and i will learn to play guitar too. i know how to speak fluently english and i am starting italian too. i paint , and i had serious suggestions of selling them. i dance great, i am quite pretty and the *hotty* boy of my school is in love with me. i am composing poems and music and i have been playing in all my school theatric plays first roles. in my future plans is a ''show'' in a gallery for my hobby, photography. I am interested in politics, philosophy abd religion issues. But after all that, i am nothing. i am not a prodigy, not a genious, not famous, not rich. i am a mediocre. i hate that.. any advise? Oh, puh-leeze....(*shakes head, rolls eyes*) You need to do something about your self-esteem problem quickly. If I was doing all those things my life would feel very complete and beautiful. You are wonderful, special, and the only you in the world - be happy about it! You are the ONLY YOU IN THE WHOLE WORLD! FP youve been worked into these talents but have no inspiration take a break, live on the streets for a couple years then come back roarin! Compared to the rest of the human population you are not mediocre. geez. You're crazy intense settle down a bit. Live life a little slower. Invest in friendships. if you are fishing for a compliment then , here you go you are awesome and god has a great plan for you Ah yes. I know this feeling well. Mediocrity will eat you alive. Beware of early success; it creates a daunting standard or expectation that you must constantly strive to maintain. Lest you see yourself as simply mediocre. You achieve for achievement's sake. Why study Italian? Do you geniunely enjoy dance? Poetry? Music? Theater? Or do your pursuits merely provide outlets for attention or opportunities, however small, to succeed. Honestly, I am saddened by your ambition. Your achievements will never bring you the philosophical contentment people spend their entire lives struggling toward. Indeed, you have said as much--After all that, I am nothing. I wonder how rich you would have to become before considering yourself "something." How famous? Happiness comes from inside. This is your choice. Do not confuse material success with happiness or mediocrity. Ask yourself what you enjoy doing when no one watches you? What do you enjoy independent of the outcome? You will find happiness here. Intelligence, prodigious talent or material wealth offer none of the perfect joys found in the quiet pursuit of one's true passion. And, in some way, everyone of us is mediocre. But only those who measure themselves by material yardsticks fear it. Here's a book recommendation that is extremely inspiring (it inspired me!) if you read it seriously..and absorb every word. I am currently reading this book, and your question immediately reminded me of the book. It's called "Guide to Greatness" by Robin Sharma. Once you read that, you will get out of a mediocre feeling and life....to greatness. But it will need your drive backing ur actions. His words are extremely inspiring. And I mean this. Give it a try. And let me know how u like it. |
