What laptops can i buy for 拢500/600 with a good memory and hard drive and bluetooth ?

im after a latop for use with school work and im into photography and would like to be able to connect to a bluetooth printer using no wires. i like the Gateway they sell in Tesco for 拢599 but does anyone recommend that ? if so please say in your answer if u lik it or not.

You must spend your money for the best brand.

As I know HP and Dell are the best in laptops for a long time and they are very reliable too. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years before, and still like the day I bought it. Didn't even have to service it at least once up to now.

I recommend you to buy a HP (with experience) or Dell laptop.

On www.hp.com you can even customize your laptop. And also you can check the price.

Plenty to chose from there.
I would not go with Gateway, their support is really bad, plus they are one of these company that you havent a clue if they are coming or going.

I dont like PCWorld much, but sometime they do really good deals, last week the Toshiba for 拢399, add another 1GB of memory and you have a decent laptop for 拢500
My experience of Gateway is that their support is really poor. Their software is somewhat customised as is their hardware... so it's not 'standard'. They're also big enough as a company to get customised chipsets so standard drivers don't work.

Don't worry about bluetooth being included in the laptop... a USB bluetooth adapter will cost you about 拢20.

Go for a decent maker if you can find one in your price range... HP/Compaq, Toshiba, Sony, Lenovo are probably among the good makers.

Or alternatively, Aldi were selling a pretty good spec medion or targus laptop (different weeks offers) for under 拢500.
i would never go with novatech(if you repair pc's all the time for people you will KNOW what i mean)

for laptops there is nothing wrong with pc world except they KEEP trying to push NORTON AV in yer face which is crap,
it hogs system resources and being now that all windows laptops are to be sold with vista preinstalled(which is a resource hog anyway) then you are going to need all the ram you can get.

you may find this interesting for when someone tries to sell you norton with your new laptop http://www.pricegrabber.co.uk/rating_get...
Hi, i am not a great fan of Gateway, always had problem with it and support was not what would expect these days. After it went to silicon heaven/hell i went for a secondhand one for 拢99 with a 40 G hard drive and with a 12 month warranty.
