How would I obtain a grant to go to school? |
I am a new mom and have an avid interest in photography. I don't have the money, or that that much money to spare because my baby takes up all of my financial resources, from school. I need something else in my life besides being a stay at home mom. How would I get a pell grant? Who do I apply to? How long does it take to hear something back from them? I have a school that I would really like to go to. Any other suggestions or advice for someone trying to get a pell grant? Federal Pell grants. Here's what my college financial aid booklet says: "Federally funded program administered by theU.s. Department of Education. Elegibility is based on demonstrated financial need. The grants is based on eligebility determined by the federal government. Available to undersgraduate students pursuing their first bachelor's degree and students in the teacher certificate program. Does not need to be repaid." You apply for it through FAFSA. It's determined by your income, people you have to support (such as your baby. Congratulations, by the way). Best of luck!Do an on-line search for pell grants. Go to the school you want to go to, admissions dept. and they will assist you in finding funding for schooling. They will also be able to guide you to any scholarships you might qualify for. Their are two types of Financial Aid. The FAFSA and the TAP. For the FAFSA you can just follow the directions online.
