Photography ideas? With a 2 month old?

Im getting pictures taken with my husband and 2 month old daughter and i was wondering if you guys had any ideas on what to wear or positions for posing? I know the photographer will help out alot when we get their but i just want to be prepared somewhat. ideas? By The Way it will be inside of a studio probably with just a plain white or black background..

Should we all wear the same color? or just me and my hubby and then our daughter something else?

Make sure you make your appointment for a time when your baby will be well rested and fed.

Bring extra clothes in a variety of colors in case there is any kind of 'accident' and to make sure the clothes don't clash with the background.

Make sure the clothes your baby wears are comfortable. If she's uncomfortable, she might cry through the whole seating.

Bring a few personal props; they add a personal touch to your pictures (first teddy bear, favorite blanket, etc.)

blue jeans or khakis and a white button up shirt untucked. Nice not to formal look.

Bring two shirts to wear..If you wear white with white background you kinda look bland..I like black , dark blue or red shirts to make you stand out more with a white background and lighter colors with a black background.
If they have a large chair to sit in , sit in your hubby's lap with legs over the side and baby in your lap..It's kinda whimsical and very cute..

I personally love black backgrounds with soft lighting. It gives the photograph an intimate feeling. Also, as far as clothing...if you're going to use a black background, try to use subtle "pop" colors. Like red accessories (earings, necklace..etc) or other colors that will stick out and give it small amounts of interest, but not over the top. Stay away from clothing that goes along with todays "fads"...your photo will be outdated within a few years. Wear outfits that are timeless!

Good luck!!

I love the pic of the baby in just a diaper in mom or dads hands. You don't see anything but mom and dads hands and forearms. It's a nice perspective picture that really shows just how small baby really is.

Black background, Black shirts on you & dad, topless baby with a black cover of her/his diaper. That makes classic pics! Nothing there to take away the beauty from your child. You want only the faces! That is what I did..and I LOVE how they all came out!

Discuss the set / background choices with your photographer. You and your husband can dress accordingly. Personally - I wouldn't like matching outfits but that's just me.

Definitely take extra tops in case baby throws up, and extra clothes for the child in case of... :-)

My own favorites are natural shots - or as close as possible. Something like the ones in the set below. (BTW - this isn't an ad - just some baby pics from a friend of mine I really like)

We just had our baby's 2 month pictures taken . They did just a black diaper cover over the baby and my husband and I wore black long sleeved shirts. Several pose ideas would be . Mom holding baby looking down at her with Dad kissing baby's forehead, Mom or Dad holding baby's fingers.Dads feet with baby's feet . Mom holding baby with moms eyes closed . Dad holding baby with Dads eyes closed. (baby looking up at Mom and Dad ) Our photographer was a specialist in newborn photos so we were very fortunate . We chose most poses in black and white and they turned out beautiful . Talk to your photographer and make sure they are very experienced in infant photos since they are only this age once ! ENJOY !!!!!
