I want to use a studio photography lighting kit, let's say, in the middle of a park. Obviously I have no power. Is there a battery generator that I can buy where I just have to plug the cord (120 volts, standard american outlet needed) from the light into the generator, and voila? I don't want to have to use fuel of any sort.
There is no generator that doesn't need fuel. In order to create energy (electricity), you must use engery (motor & fuel). Studio Flash bulbs require a large surge of power from the power supply. There is no item that I know of that will provide a LARGE ENOUGH supply of power. There are jump starter packs for cars with outlets on them, but they will only power a cell phone charger or something else very small. You can find very small generators that put out about 750 to 1000 Watts (a measure of power required) and are about the size of a laptop case. These new generators are very quiet and use very little gas.

Own 3 generators. even if you did put a battery out there and converted the powere from DC to AC those lights need more electricity than a battery can put out....you need a small gas powered generator and i understand you said you didn't want to mess with fuel but......
