"Glam" photography in Taiwan? |
Does anyone know a good studio in Taiwan (specifically in the studio of Taoyuen) that does good "glam" photos? I'm heading over in a few weeks and want to take some pictures. An example of "glam photography" is this website: http://www.whiteladder.com.tw/chinese/in... But this studio is in Taipei. It would also be really helpful if you provided a website going along with the studio name. Thanks! I'm sorry I can't help with Taoyuen studios, but I wanted to give you a few suggestions. First, Taipei is a very short distance from Taoyuen. Less than 1 hour, depending on mode of transportation. I have had my wedding photos done here, and from my point of view, I wouldn't go to a wedding studio to have them done. When you check out the studios, make sure the sample photos they show you were taken by their photographer. MANY places have professional photo sample that they bought from someone else. Make sure that your photographer has experience. When I was looking to have my wedding photos done, some of the photographers looked like high school students. NEVER pay for everything until they show you the pictures. A deposit is standard, but if you pay in advance, you are letting them rip you off. And if they are asking for all the money in advance, they most likely will burn you. well, it's quite difficult to answer ur questions! Coz i've still confused what 'glam photography' means As the website u provided, here are some relevant websites in mandarin only : http://lgm.com.tw/inside.htm http://lgm.com.tw/in_company.htm... hope it would be helpful you should take a look at the wedding photography stores near you. Their bread and butter is weddings and they do amazing photos. The wedding photo studios will also do any other kind of photography you wish, the do personal portraits, nudes, family photos etc. They do it all and and have amazing skills. The big cities will have the best photography studios. your best bet is to take a day and wander down whatever road is called 'wedding street' in your town and poke your head into each studio and look at their sample portfolios to see their work and the style each photographer has. In Taichung you can look at San-Ming road near the train station. I personally recommend Gui-Guan photo studios. I dont know if Taoyuan has a competitive photography industry set up or not but it is highly likely there is a 'wedding' street in Taipei with several competing studios set up. Ignore the wedding aspect and just think of them as dream-makers with full costuming, make up resources-- and high photographic skill. check out this site for a few links to photostudios around taiwan: http://www.photolinks.com/resultspage3.h... and another similar list site: http://www.marketingtool.com/channel/pho... I highly suggest shopping around and finding the best photographer for your needs. If price is your only focus try and compare -most studios will be competitive and bargain a bit. _____ june 23 edit: I recommend gui-guan photo studio. they operate in Taichung and Tainan on San-Ming road in Taichung. they are professional. I was very satisfied with the service from them and they weren't the hard sell type. (like many we spoke to) listen to dad's advice below. if they want all the $ up front dont buy. generally you put down a deposit first (small money) and then you get some pics done and rent some costumes from them/ pay the makeup artist. After that then you go through the pics with them and agree which ones to buy. (if you are happy.) then you should go through final editing and get the book or photos presented/framed ect. and pay the final sum at that point. if they look like high school kids dont buy. if you don't like their style or portfolio selection don't go there. If they are giving you the hard sell walk out and don't be nice about it. we did that 2 times to some of the greedy bastards. It took us about 6 hours of walking along before we decided which one we liked... Most of them will have crap english so if you dont have chinese speaking ability or someone who can translate for you, you may be out of luck as far as getting EXACTLY what you have planned. Prepare some ideas for special things you want to try by looking at many photos first for inspiration (ie ideas to copy) i am sorry i don't know Check here:http://www.urstyle.com.tw/factorylist/dr... then find "妗冨湌绺e競" area (At the 4th section), you can see some studio store there. I think you can find a good one. |
