just wondering like what kind of degree certificate or license you would need? obviously one that has to do with photography just need the info. thanks in advanced.
After you finish attending photo school (Art Center, Brooks, Cal Arts or RIT), work for about five years as an assistant to a studio photographer and learn the business. This will also give you the time and money to purchase the roughly $50,000 in equipment you will have to put in your NEW studio.

ProPhotog Honestly, you do not need any degree to open your own photo studio. What you need is to file for a business license, a fictitious business name and publish it in local papers for a period of time (see your state and county and city requirements), Find a location, lease it, put up signs and advertise, open your doors and do what you need to do to get customers in the door. It does not hurt if you have technical training in photography or simply have professional staff photographers. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have plenty samples of work done. Don't forget to file your appropriate tax forms declaring your company.
