Take a look at my drawing?

I drew this the other day, and i just wanted to know what people thought.

(You can take a look at my other stuff... i have drawings and photography)

My problem is that i've NEVER drawn with charcoal.. and my pic came out kinda messy... any tips?

P.S. Everybody...

(especially "Matt Kevin")

I don't take any offense at all to what you have to say. Honest answers might be hard to swallow, but they're always the most helpful.

Not to be a braggster, but I seriously have never found someone who can draw better than me (im 18). No im not about to say your the one... But im simply using this to reinforce your trust in my advise. IF your seriously into drawing and you put alot of work into this particular drawing, then try to outline the bottom a little darker. The hair is very dark as are the eyes, and unless you are wanting people to only see those two features for the first 5 seconds they look at your drawing, then you could use a little more equilibrium with the shading. Outleast give his shoulders and neck a little more individuality from the background with a crisper line. Charcoal is by no means m area of expertise, but I have been rather succesful with it in the past.

Ps. Definately create more contrast between the shadow under his chin and the bottom left side of his face. Its almost blended together, make the shadow on his neck slightly darker right at the top of it, where light would really be struggling to hit, and create a more crisp line dividing the two features.

that looks dam good

WOAHHH you are soooo good! i could never draw like that if my life depended on it!

i dont know much about drawing put i thing anyone would say this is good

very talented. :::applaude::: my friend matty puts his art on deviant art also... :)

Not my taste. Try another hobby.

That is neat. I wish i could draw people like that....That looks so real.

ok, that's REALLY good.

it's nice...the only thing i'd suggest is adding some whites to the eyes ... for a less 'demonically possessed' look!

It's really not that bad I know that charcoal is kinda hard the first time you use that but that is really good for your first time ;)

wow that is really good. i don't think it looks messy. when i think of charcoal when it comes to drawing, i think kinda messy.

That looks really good! Nice job, I love working with charcoal :)

I want to add that I looked at your photography as well, and it is fantastic! I absolutely love it.

Wow, great job!!! I love art, and someday hope to learn to draw with charcoal myself. Sorry, no tips...but you have potential so keep up the great work;)

That's good, love the way you've done the hair :D

Looks like a Rapist

the drawing is amazing i always wanted to be able to draw but i can't :[

That's great! But the problem that you might be having is with shading. The part where you shaded underneath the man's chin kind of looks like a part of his face. So you might want to clear that up but other than that your drawing is absolutely amazing!

its ok but you should try to use another medium

well, its alot better than i can do...nice work!

WOAH thas wel gud!!! it looks a lot like chad michael murray...but its brad pitt...either way its still brill :)

it's a really weak drawing
you're clearly an amateur.... but for an amateur it's not really that bad.

don't get me wrong- you wanted a clear answer and here it is. I admit I couldn't draw even this good because I haven't put any effort into learning this thing but my mum is a professional artist and so is my cousin, my girlfriend studies at an art college too and my grandad is one of the biggest art collectors in the region so I've been around art since I was born hence my reply

I'm gonna check out your photos, maybe they're better :)

yeah hey i feel bad when i criticize people who maybe put a lot of effort in the work but I'm never gonna say stuff I don't think like. Im aware my reply is not helpful since I can't explain and teach ya exactly how to do it better but if you just asked what i think of it, there was my reply.....

I think it's awesome and can't tell that it's smudged. Your other work is also pretty cool, esp the photographs.

I loved it nice drawing keep it up and i don't agree with that guy

That's awesome!

I think it looks excellent you did a really good job it looks like brad Pit from Fight club. it you need to clean it up(but I don't see why) try using an eraser from a pencil. or a big eraser

For never using charcoal before, that was pretty amazing. I would suggest blending the face a bit more. You did the exact same thing I do whenever I attempt to draw something: you brought out the details so that they took the focus off of the main stuff. But I really should not be telling you this because one--it's good and two--I could never do something like that. Keep working and it will be perfect!!!

No. no tips just to say that the picture looks goood and if you think you need to get bettter or something then go for it. Looks like that you will be able to acheive it without a problem.

First of all, it is awesome! I see what you mean by messy. I would suggest starting on the left of the drawing and drawing down so then it wouldn't smudge.

its very good, i can't draw in charcoal, or maybe I'm just afraid to =D. But Either Way its extremely good.
I have a deviant art too http://blackbutterflyha.deviantart.com/
i do photo manipulations normal drawings and photography, check my work out if you'd like. =]

it's great, i don't see the messyness but you should just practice

woah! that was great! i don't think it looked messy though.. cuz i am not really an artist.. =]
but GREAT JOB!!
