What are the best exotic places to travel to alone as a girl!?

I'm studying photography, I'm 22 this year and I graduate in 3 months so I think this would be the perfect time to travel. I've been to places in Europe (I live in England) so I really want to experience a whole new culture and country.
At the moment I'm thinking Brazil but everyone I speak to is so negative, otherwise I'd love to go to South Africa but thats not possible as the current political and social difficulties of the country.
I also keep being told that as a young white girl I will get hassle, but I'd like to think thats not an issue (some people even think Im mixed race anyway!).
I have noone else to go with as all my friends work or have serious boyfriends and to be honest I really want to experience this by myself. Any tips from female travellers or general advice? Thanks x

Try www.gapyear.com, and have a look at the messageboards.

What I know - South East Asia and central Asia are ideal, really geared towards the Backpacker/gap year traveler. South Africa is perfectly safe at the moment, you will have no worries there, just dont be walking around cities after dark. Brazil could potentially be a little bit more dangerous than SA, but as long as you use common sense you will be perfectly safe - or you could try other countries in South America, Peru, Costa Rica and Chile are fairly well visited and safe.

Try that website I gave you, it is a great source of knowledge.

Just remember - you shouldnt believe people who are telling you that you are going to be raped and killed XD, they are just worried, but dont let that put you off - have they ever traveled?

No problemo! - like I said the message board is really good, full of people who have travel experience. You could post a question about the most obscure destination and you will probably get an answer from someone who has been there.
Ps - thanks for choosing mine as the best answer Report It

I will suggest you to visit www.mvmtravel.com as well as you can join worldwide travel community and connect with friends by www.mvmtravel.com/community you even can make inquiry for your travel.

What about Southeast Asia countries? From where i come from, i see quite a lot of white girls traveling alone. it must be notes that traveling alone is inherently dangerous, regardless of the location

Go on the CIA's website to find world travel advisories. There are many unsafe places in the world, especially when travelling alone, male or female. As a female, you'd be a target if you didn't keep a very watchful eye.

You can find some exotic locations in the U.S., including Arizona, Hawaii, Guam, and Puerto Rico.

Try to stay with industrialized nations. We don't want to see you on CNN.

Dubai & Tehran

can i ask why you would want to go somewhere exotic ALONE?

One of the best exotic places I have ever been is Costa Rica. It is amazing, the people are very very friendly, the beaches are gorgeous, the mountains are beautiful, they have very nice accommodations, great food and a great climate. I love it there and have never felt uncomfortable. It's worth checking out.

I am a single female and have always travelled on my own and have travelled to many destinations. I am from Sydney Australia and considering your pound is very strong and there are some spectacular places to discover here, I would definately take advantage of that fact. And also it is a safe adventure.

I would highly suggest that you do not travel alone..anywhere. Find a friend to go with you and share this special trip with you. Laos, Cambodia and Thailand are some of the most beautiful countries on Earth and you would do well to go there. If you cannot go witth a friend at least hire a reputable guide as an escort and to show you his/her Country..You will be surprised how cheaply this can be done.

come to Sanya china here is a place where anyone can walk alone day or night and no one will bother you apart from the girls on the beach selling sugar cane but just say NO and shake your head and they leave you alone straght away
there s also loads of places to visit and take pics eg the end of the world is just down the road .I have been to south africa also kenya and non of these compair to this sunny city called Sanya hope this helps !!!!!!PS i left LHR airport uk to sanya it cost 拢535 pound for a 3 month open ticket and your visa cost is 拢90 pound s i got mine from chinese visa direct with twin entry to china !!!

if you're a photographer, you'll love prague in czech republic because it's probably the most historical place i know. the architecture are awesome. although prague is supposed to be more fun if you're with a lover since it's very romantic there, it also wouldn't hurt to be alone. and the people there are very nice. :)

I am travelling alone in Brazil at the moment (but I am a guy), though it is supposed to be dangerous, if you keep your wits about you, there is no trouble. Brazil is absolutely amazing, though very expensive compared to other Latin American countries.
Also if you stay in hostels, you will meet many other young people who want to do the same things as you, you can then travel with them.
Just avoid the favelas!

Good luck!
