Photography Tips needed?

hi
Later on i am off to a virgin healthcare anti protest has any one got any tips for getting good pictures

If you've got a wide-angle then try that - and get in close - for some dramatic looking images. Look for those in the front line of the protestors and security as there will undoubtedly be some animated confrontations.

As for the person who says you need model releases, that's rubbish. When did you last see a press photographer asking the general public to sign a release? Just think how many you'd need if you were shooting at a football match and got the crowd in the background! Anyone can be photographed in a public place and the images can be published without their permission.

Just keep shooting. Dont stand around waiting for that perfect shot. Just keep shooting.

If your camera has the ability select continuous shooting mode and shoot in bursts of frames if any action happens. And plenty of memory cards. Shoot loads, a picture will be there one second and gone the next.

shoot. call your friends and make a photo session. go in the park and shoot flowers. go downtown and shoot on the streets. at the end of the day at least one photo will be good. then, the next day start it over.

I'm sure you'll be photographing lots of people... if you plan on publishing your pics or displaying them on the internet then be sure to bring lots of model agreements, or they can sue you.

Best of luck!

You're going to protest healthcare for virgins? Well, OK...

If you look at crowd/protest shots, the best ones single out one of the protesters (usually the nuttiest-looking one) while showing the rest of the angry mob.

Use the widest-angle lens you have and keep the principal character towards the middle to avoid distortion.

get close to people shoot at angle that is complementery to the subject.get action shots be in the crowd.i went to the gleneagles g8 demo it was exilerating.up against the fences getting clobbered by demonstraters as well as the police.be careful . mostly these demos are a fairly static affair but be prepared for hustle and bustle.dont be put off by the cops get in amongst the heat and snap away.use wide angle or a good zoom.black and white always looks better than color.more dramatic.hope this is helpful
