Im taking a photography class in the fall where should i go to buy my camera and what kind should i get? |
and what kinda tips can you give a beginner? Yes, you could go with the best answer from the previously asked question! As you're doing a photography class, I assume you'll be doing 'film' photography, along with processing and printing. In which case you'll get more suitable answers from the Photography section http://answers.yahoo.com/dir/index;_ylt=... than you would normally get on the consumer electronics / digital camera section. I used to do a photography class, we had to use b&w film because of the limitations in the college. I'd just say that you need to have a fairly solid SLR, without too many features! You're probably supposed to be learning how to use a camera, and anything 'automatic' gets in the way! You should be OK with a second hand camera. If you go to a camera shop that sells used cameras they will be able to help you choose something suitable. As for tips, make sure you wear latex gloves (or latex free if you're allergic!) when processing! Find out which is the best enlarger, and make sure you get it whenever possible! Try to find a camera shop that sells it's own brand of printing paper (non-digital) because it'll be cheaper. And keep it well protected from light!! This question has already been asked and resolved this month: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... Good luck with your class! |
