Any Amature Photography Contests? |
I go camping a lot, and I have some really gorgeous pictures. I think I would really enjoy entering some into contests, but I don't really know where to begin. I am an amateur photographer, and think I want to start out with some local contests before I start looking at ones over the internet. Any ideas on where to start looking for them - local or internet? Just need a few tips on how to get started. Thanks! Most areas have some sort of culture. Local arts organizations, private and public galleries, museums, etc..., they all sponsor various contests. Try your yellow pages, and local chamber of commerce for contact info. Even if someone isnt sponsoring something right than, they will probably know who is sponsoring something. You dont have to wait for the county fair. Also, try photo.net. They have contests, and forums that can be used to find other contests. Good luck County Fairs have such contests. Just look for one or two in your area and go from there. Our State Fair has entries from all over the world. PhotoDude County fairs are a good place. I just entered one of mine there. i would start out with liek said before county/state fairs. and then maybe even going to diff states to see the outcome. and if you have this store Fleet farm, they tend to have some contests for the calanders that they have. check out photoawards.com they have contests for amatures online with diffrent catergories. hope you find a good place to show of your artwork! |
