What are really good Photography tips for taking pictures? Never put your subject as on the focus point. I don't know how good your camera is but when you look in the viewing window imagine you have a square around the centre (focus point). Place your subject in one of the 4 points of that square - what this does is that it makes your subject the focus of your picture. This is called the rule of three. Also try and keep all your verticals and horizontals straight (e.g. if you are taking a pic of a building make sure that the building is not wonky) this just make your pics appear neater. Hope it helpes 1 use a camera For the purposes here, I'll assume you have a digital camera (if you had an SLR film camera, I'd talk about focus, aperature, etc...) The main element that makes great pictures is COMPOSITION. A combination of objects in the foreground and background make more interesting pictures. To see some great examples of composition, go to www.flickr.com and check out their section called "interestingness". A good picture is all about framing (what the camera actually captures). A basic rule is the "rule of thirds". divide the range of view into thirds, like a tic-tac-toe board. More interesting pictures have the subject off-center, where two of those imaginary lines would intersect. The picture tells more of a story, and it is more visually appealing. check out: www.photonhead.com/exposure/ and http://www.great-landscape-photography.c... |
