How old do you have to be to be a photographer at a portrait studio??

Like Sears or JCP and can you give me proof and what are the experience??

Proof as in a link or something because if not someone could just say 17 or 21 and not really know!!

Legally, depends on your state, and child labor laws.

Need proof, go to your local state and federal websites, and look up labor law.

As for experience, I wouldnt consider someone unless they had verifiable customer service and sales skills. Some knowledge of photography portraiture, user level camera maintenaance, etc... would be helpful.

Places like sears, JCP, Walmart, etc..., photogs are responsible for sales, paperwork, handling problems, handling irate customers, while being able to take decent photos under the worst conditions (mama's waving their "free" coupons, etc...) .

You should have some life experience to do all that.

Edit:::: First, cant post a link to your state child labor law info, if we dont know your State. Second, you keep posting similiar questions from time to time, so maybe its time for you to get off your butt, and do some of your own research, if you dont like the answers you get here.

I dont think you have the maturity yet for a customer service job, dealing with people.

Theres this girl in my grade who was 17 when she got her job as a photographer at yuen lui. I'm not sure what her experience was but it couldn't have been a lot.

Contact local photographers and see if they need a gopher to do errands. The may be able to get your foot in the door that way. Read and study everything you can about portraiture and studio photography...do your homework.

Why would you need a proof ? Go apply or ask them directly. if you are too shy, you are already in the wrong field.
