What are your ideas for an Engagement Portrait? |
If you have seen one, or had one done, what were some cute/fun/beautiful/nice/unique poses that were taken. In studio or on location? What was worn? First, listen to the photographer--they're the pros and will know what will flatter you both (which won't be the same for everyone). We're having a beach wedding, so we had our engagement pix taken while we were on vacation to Hilton Head. I thought it was nice to have a beach photo, considering. We both wore nice/casual clothes-linen crop pants and blouse for me and shorts and button down shirt for him. well the picture i have showing is my engagement picture well one. we had ours at a train depot walking down the train tracks was a pretty one sitting on the train steps its pretty nice and the place had a brick wall so we had one with me leaning on the wall him with one hand above me and leaning in and kissing that one was my fav I like a place that showcases where you live or something you like to do together. If you have a dog include them! Outdoor shots look more casual and natural. How about some shots where you are dressed in your favorite teams jersey? I had Engagement Photos done, I had them shot with the same photographer I had for the wedding. We did casual poses, my placing my hand on his chest, him standing behind me, things like that. We wore regular clothing-he wore jeans and an orange button-up shirt, I wore jeans and a black sweater (we had several changes of outfits, but they were all jeans or khakis and more sweaters and shirts). We did half of our photos outdoors (the guy had awesome props set up, like a bench, a little stream, and beautiful trees) and we also did some indoors. Hope this helps! Be casual - don't over do it. It should really reflect you and your hubby and your interests. We had ours done by our wedding photographer. They came amazing. She actually did them at her house because she has a beautiful, scenic backyard and front yard. have him behind you with arms around you Most of the ones I have seen are just the couple (or with their animals) very casual in a place that is meaningful to them. I've seen parks, beach scenes, favorite restaurant, at home. It's just a snippet of your life together. I've seen them blown up and put at the receptions and signed by the guests or on the save the date cards. Our engagement photos were included with our wedding package. I think engagement photos always look nice when taken in an old town square, with antique shops & such. Or in a park where you have lots of scenery to work with. I don't like the posy pictures. Do something fun and cute.. I saw one of people building a sand castle... watching the sunset... running through some leaves... something creative and fun. Just sitting there and smiling to me is nice, but boring. For a location, how about where the two of you met? my fiancee and i got our pictures taken where we are getting married, a year before the wedding. So it was the exact time of year as the wedding is going to be next year and we did a lot of in the woods with all the fall leaves around us, some hay bails, and on the bend where our wedding party is going to be sitting when we are getting married. I thought it was a unique idea and my pictures turned out wonderfully! An "Engagement Portrait"? Capital 'e', capital 'p', no less? I never heard of such a thing! Sounds like photographers have cooked up a way to make more money... |
