A. I usually shoot professional models, they pose themselves.
Q. Which is more enjoyable for you to photograph: People or Nature
A. People. I love the interaction
Q. Do you enjoy taking pictures at night, or during the day?
A. I really am comfortable with both 鈥?and I do shoot both
Q. Do you simply take pictures, or do you frame the shot first?
A. It is all about composition
Q. Do you find taking a good picture difficult? Why or why not?
A. It is easy to take photographs because I have had so many years of education and experience.
Q. Do you enjoy taking abstract pictures or portraits?
A. Abstract
Q. Does lighting play a big part in photography? Why or why not?
A. Lighting is everything, without it you may as well use a copy machine
Q. Do you think that many photographers over charge, or are the pictures worth the cost?
A. Most do not charge enough. It is getting more and more difficult to make a living as a photographer because it seems everyone thinks it is easy to produce images and cannot tell the difference between great shot and one that should have been placed in the dust bin.
Q. As well as in your career, do you enjoy taking your own photographs during personal time?
A. I truly do enjoy shooting during my personal time. I love to experiment.
Q. What is the difficulty level of being a photographer? Does it become easier when you have done it for several years?
A. Learning to make the camera part of me, so I don鈥檛 ever have to think about the technical aspects, but only have to shoot. Those are some mighty odd questions for photographers. FYI - I am not shouting in my answers, but I wanted to do this to differentiate my answers from the questions.

Q. Do you position what you are photographing, if possible, or do you allow then to pose themselves?
IF I'M DOING PRODUCT SHOTS, THEN YES.
IF I'M SHOOTING PORTRAITS, I MAKE SUGGESTIONS, BUT LET THE PEOPLE DO THEIR THING.
IF SHOOTING, ANIMALS OR NATURE, SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO TAKE WHAT THEY GIVE YOU. PATIENCE IS KEY.
Q. Which is more enjoyable for you to photograph: People or Nature
I NATURE MORE, AS NATURE IS WHAT IT IS AND FOR THE MOST PART IF YOU KNOW YOUR SUBJECT, REASONABLE PREDICTABLE. PEOPLE ON THE OTHER HAND CAN BE VOLATILE. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MIGHT GET.
Q. Do you enjoy taking pictures at night, or during the day?
DURING THE DAY. I LIKE SHOOTING IN NATURAL LIGHT, WITH AS LITTLE FLASH OR HOT LIGHTS OR REFLECTORS AS POSSIBLE.
Q. Do you simply take pictures, or do you frame the shot first?
DEPENDS ON THE SUBJECT AND THE STYLE. IF THE CLIENT IS LOOKINFG FOR SOMETHING FORMAL, THEN FRAME, METER, MEASURE, CHECK FOCUS AND THEN DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING. IF WE ARE TALKING PHOTOJOURNALISTIC APPRAOCH OR SPORTS, THEN EVERYTHING HAS TO BE DONE AT AN ACCELERATED PACE BECAUSE NO ONE IS WAITING ON YOU TO GET THE SHOT AND THEY WON'T DO A "RETAKE".
Q. Do you find taking a good picture difficult? Why or why not?
AT FIRST, BEFORE I BECAME A PRO, IT WAS DIFFICULT REMEMBERING EVERYTHING, MAKING THESETTINGS RIGHT AND ALL THAT. THROUGH STUDY, PRACTICE AND REPETITION, A LOT OF THINGS ARE NOW SECOND NATURE AND YOU DO THEM WITHOUT EVEN THINKING ABOUT IT.
Q. Do you enjoy taking abstract pictures or portraits?
I'M NOT ANABSTRACT KIND OF PERSON. MY STYLES TENDS TO LEND IT SELF TO THE TRADITIONAL.
Q. Does lighting play a big part in photography? Why or why not?
OF COURSE, WITHOUT LIGHT, WE WOULD NOT HAVE IMAGES.
Q. Do you think that many photographers over charge, or are the pictures worth the cost?
I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE TRY AND PASS THEMSELVES OF AS PROFESSIONALS. THEY THINK THEY ARE BECAUSE THEY BUY A DSLR AND IMMEDIATLY THINK THAT BECAUSE THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS TELL THEM THAT THIER PICTURES ARE GREAT THAT THEY ARE GOOD. THEY THEN TRY AND DO PROFESSIONAL WORK, BUT CHARGE A VERY LOW FEE. SOME PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE GETTING A PRO, BUT REALLY THEY ARE GETTING A MONKEY WITH A DSLR. THE MONKEY HAS NO REAL KNOWLEDGE OF PHOTOGRAPHY...IT IS A SHAME.
Q. As well as in your career, do you enjoy taking your own photographs during personal time?
I LOVE TAKING PICTURES ANYTIME. I'M GENERALLY NOT A VERY "ARTISTIC" PERSON, BUT I CAN FIND WYS OF EXPRESSING MYSELF THROUGH THE CAMERA.
Q. What is the difficulty level of being a photographer? Does it become easier when you have done it for several years?
BEING A PRO CAN BE CHALLENGING AND REWARDING. AS YOU GAIN EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO APPLY WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED, AS IN ALL THINGS, IT DOES GET EASIER. |
