Can you suggest me a good, but also cheap material for me to use as a photo background? |
I want to make portrait as well as still life photography, but I don't have a big budget for the background... so can you please tell me what materials can I use? I am looking for a good, but not too expensive material, that means, a well balanced price/quality percent. So what kinds of fabrics for examples can I use with lights? An anti-static material like a sheet of heavy satin in both dark and light colors. Cotton creases and so does linen and silk. Go the the $1 table at your local yardage store. Get 4 yards of black, white and some colours. The most basic background is white background paper, which isn't that expensive, depending upon how wide you want it. If you can't even afford that, you're probably then looking for an old bedsheet at the Goodwill store. Foam core boards can be purchased at an office supply store. Colors are black or white with several sizes. Poster board is also very good and comes in many colors. These are excellent for close in macro type work, some portrait work, and can also be used to bounce flash. |
