I'm taking a photography class, and for our final project, we have to turn in about 10 photos that all have to do with one theme or subject... but I can't think of any ideas. Examples the teacher gave were "time" (and the student took a picture of someone putting money in a parking meter and someone doing the 'time out' sign with their hands) or "portrait of a small town" (take a picture of the mayor, the oldest building in town, etc). So the theme can be very concrete or very abstract.
It CANNOT be a one-time event (like a concert or something) and it has to be something outside of school life, but readily available around here (I live in a small town in the midwest, so obviously I won't be taking pictures of mountains or anything).
Any ideas? I need to turn in my proposal soon! Waterfalls? probably not... sorry i just moved to the midwest, i'm not used to not having mountains, waterfalls, etc.

There are so many different themes you could play around with, just some quick ideas off the top of my head: noise, path, wanderlust, flutter, passage, airborne, novelty, sleepless, meh, awkward, recovery, waterproof, etc. I have a couple of series of "themed" photography on the go.
Windows is one of them; I think of these as eyes looking out. sometime it's the frame itself, sometimes it's what you see inside. I do tend to prefer older windows; they seem to have more of a story to tell.
Doors is another one; These are portals to somewhere or something else. Again, their shape, construction and age are all factors that I look for. What secrets to they guard? What opportunities await you on the other side?
Hope this helps. |
