I need ideas for my portraits in my photography class?

I need to have 2 portraits.
the first is a bizzare prtrait where i have to take a picture of something unusual ,something you don't normally see in a picture.
The 2st is a character portrait where i have to take a picture of somone else and be able to portray an aspect of their personality in the picture.

1st one: one i took was open shutter of bugs at night flying around a parking lot light. Of course they just left a trail of circular light. It looked freaky and left a creepy feeling, just like bugs. I used colour.

2nd: i suggest using a senior with major character lines done in black and white. I have one of my mom looking back over her shoulder at me. Of course the pose can be anything you like. But mom always liked to catch me at something...lol.

Cheers! Children are great for character too, but I'd use colour as they are more vibrant in character, rather than wisened.

For the first one, sneak into the men's bathroom and take a picture of the urinal. :-) Take it from a "guys" angle.

For the first one, go someplace you usually go and get very close up on something from a different angle.

For the second, find someone you're close to and take a picture of them doing the thing that they do the most.

for the first I would take a tennis shoe and put in front of a flower bed and do it black and white or sepia

second first find your person preferably some one you know well and have them doing one of there personality traits. like if they are caring have the person hugguing another person who is crying.
also in black and white or sepia

You may get some ideas from the sites linked at http://www.smilelikeumeanit.com/stock.ht...

You should check out Photo.net. You may have to log-in, but don't fret, it is worth it.

Hit "Browse Portfolios", then drop down photo category to "Portraits" and hit "Find Photos" button.

Thousands and thousands of examples of portraits.

I just have to say first off...dont be afraid to set up a photo.
For the 1st one I would say, walk around taking pictures of everything, from close ups to far away.

The second one...
Find an older person (one with fairly wrinkled hands), and have them hold them open while having something that portrays there personality a bit or something thats important to them sit right in the hands. Do the pic in black and white.

Idk..just an idea, I love pics of old hands.
