Anybody have any tips for self-portrait work? |
I'm reasonably new to photography and I'm thinking about doing some self-portrait work. I'm working with an entry-level D SLR and have a tripod on the way but have no access to studio lighting. I hope I'm not being cheeky by asking but, if you were doing a self-portrait with this kit, what would you do? You can work outdoors, or anywhere with good lighting. You can use just about any lighting, just make sure you adjust your white balance. You can even reflect light to fill in any shadows that might be in the way. Try to keep the use of on camera flash to a minimum. Set up a mirror next to your camera on a tripod. Make sure you look in to the lens, not at yourself in the mirror. I love moody lighting so I recommend finding a room where the light is shining through the window but typically the room is dark, you can adjust drapes, blinds to add stunning effects. |
