Portrait lens for D80? |
I am looking to buy one, maybe two lenses for the Nikon D80. It will soley be used for portrait photography (mostly infants/children/maternity/ect). I have been looking at (by suggestion) the Nikkor 50mm and the Nikkor 35-70mm lenses, but I am still uncertain. Any suggestions?? FYI- I've heard that it is hard to get full body shots w/ the 50mm when you do not have much space. We are turning a sun room into a make-shift studio, so our space is limited. Do you think this is going to be an issue if we opt for the 50mm??? Any lens can be used as a portrait lens, from 20mm to 600mm. I love my Nikkor 50mm 1.8. It is a great buy for the money and quality of photographs. 50mm F/1.4 is perfect for portraits on your D80 with that tiny APS sensor. A real joy. Amazing lens! I'd go for the 50mm. I'd normally think more in the 50mm or 60mm range for the D80, but if working distance is a concern, you might want that 35mm end. |
