Lenses for Nikon?

Hey, I'm looking to do some photography at little league games, when they start back up, and I am needing a good lens. I was going to shoot anywhere from long range to portraits. I have a 70-300 lens. It isn't fast or sharp, but it will do. I also have a 50mm 1.8 lens and a manual focus 28mm. I have around $500 to spend, and I've been looking at a few lenses.
Sigma 17-70mm 2.8-4
Sigma 24-70mm 2.8
Sigma 30mm 1.4
Nikon 55-200mm VR
Sigma 105mm 2.8 macro
Any suggestions? Better choices? Thanks in advance.

You didn't say f you were shooting film or digital.

For portraits & "long range", the Nikon 55-200 is good. If you could swing it, look at the AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED.

Both would be good for portraits, but the 70-300 would be better for long shots.

I stick entirely with Nikon lenses. The quality is superb.
The lenses you list run the gamut from wide-angle to telephoto. They each serve a different purpose.

For shooting most sporting events, a long telephoto is necessary. Balance it on a monopod to avoid too much jiggle.

For the rest of your photography, the 24-70mm should supplement the lenses you already have.
i would go with the sigma macro, i have one and i love it.
