What do you think of canon 300d? |
hi guys, i have canon 300d with canon 18-55mm and sigma 100-300mm. what do you think of this camera? is it good enough for a student of photography? what would you rate this camera? and if you got one, are you happy with it? any suggestions to get even better pictures with this camera like using a different lens, changing some specific settings or using this camera for sepecial purpose, note: i shoot portraits and generally everything your help will be much appreciated thanks in advance I have an older Canon Digital Rebel, and I love it... I've taken some great pictures with it, as well as seen some incredible photos taken with Rebels by other people. It's a great starter camera. Personally I plan on upgrading to something like a 30D or better before too much longer, but I'll definitely be keeping my Rebel as a backup. It's an excellent camera for the price. You should probably invest in better quality quality lenses (assuming the 18-55 is the kit lens), better glass will improve the quality of your photos. My favorite lens is Canon's 50mm f/2.5 macro: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/12... It's great for portraits and other close up shots and it's a very reasonably priced lens for a beginning photographer. As far as settings, I always keep mine on 100 ISO (unless I'm working in really low light situations) and I mostly use Av (aperture priority) set on the lowest aperture the lens I'm using will allow. You might also consider investing in a good flash. I have a Canon 430ex Speedlite and it's worked well for me. The built in flash on the camera just doesn't really do that well. I think it would be a good student camera, but, after owning one, I feel that is as solid as a plastic toy. It's build is awful, which finally led me to buying something better, the Nikon D50. The 300D is ancient history. It's only six megapixels, and it has a maximum burst of four frames before the buffer fills up and you can't take anymore pictures for a few seconds. Sure, it's compatable with Canon's EF mount, which is the one of the best lens systems in the world, but the quality doesn't show in this camera. And unlike the 300D's successors, it's not even made in Japan, it's made in Taiwan. And, as said earlier, build quality is not too good. It would certainly would be a better investment to get one of Canon's current models. I have a 300D i really love it. i have always liked the way it takes photos. It is the camera i used to learn photography on so i do agree it is a great Camera to learn with. As for better photos. Put the camera on M and use it there. you tend to get better exposure when you control the settings. Then you can go to parameters. go to setup and set "set 1" all the way over to the right on everything and then set the parameters to set 1. You must use Canon 18-55mm ,28-105mm and Canon 75-300mm lens, didn't used sigma lens 100-300mm,because sigma lens given different colour and lighting controllings,I am Bachelor of Arts in photography of London, follow my instructions. |
