What are the best places to study photography in Toronto? |
I'm interested in non-degree courses, workshops or seminars in Photojournalism and/or Portrait photography. Thanx! Ryerson Polytechnic University is a highly regarded place to study photography. If you're not interested in the degree program, there is a continuing education program where you can pick and choose according to your interests. Toronto Image Works (80 Spadina) also offers courses which you can apply to a diploma. Toronto Parks and Recreation also has courses in photography. These are very economical to get your start in photography. I think that Ryerson has good photography courses. You may want to approach a photographer whose work you like and see if he or she will give you lessons, or take you on as an "apprentice." I recommand you a Free Online Photography Course it include ten lessons on Photography. Lesson 1: Composition And Impact - It's A Beautiful Photograph, But Do You Know WHY It's Beautiful? Lesson Two: Aperture And Shutter Speed - How They Work Together Lesson 3: The lens - choosing camera optics. Lesson 4: ISO, Grain, Transparency vs. Negative, Specialty Films Lesson 5: Fun Effects - Camera Filters, Soft Focus, Zooming And Panning Lesson 6: Landscape, Nature and Travel Photography Lesson 7: Portraits And Studio Lighting Lesson 8: Studio Lighting - Still Life and Product Photography Lesson 9: Tying It All Together Lesson 10: Special Requests http://www.photography-tutorial.info/... good luck ! |
