If I Bought The Following Camcorder How Would I Put My Videos On My PC? |

Depending on the features available in your camcorder model, here are a few things that you can do to achieve your objective: 1 -- If you have firewire port in your camcorder, get a firewire card installed in your PC and then using the s/w provided with the camcorder, transfer the video onto the pc. 2 -- If your camcorder supports USB streaming, then you can you the USB port on your PC to get the video transfered onto your PC. 3 -- If your PC has a TV tuner card, give the o/p of your camcorder to this tuner card and then get the video transfered onto your PC You probably have to buy a firewire cable and check to see if your computer and camera have a port on it. New camcorders usually have it but computers don't always have this port. I would go to circuit city and take your computer and tell them what u want.. Ok first let me say, I have that camcorder and it is absolutely terrible. The image quality is awful. I wouldn't buy it if you actually want to film anything. I just use it to import tapes on to my mac. OK, now how you would transfer the video to a computer.. All cameras that use mini Dv tapes transfer their video to computers though a IEEE 1394 ( a.k.a firewire or DV) port. You will first need to see if your computer has a firewire port. If not, don't despair you can buy a firewire usb box for around $50. Once you have the port you will need to buy a 6 pin to 4 pin firewire cable. You then simply connect the cable, fire up windows movie maker (or iMovie if you use a mac) and click capture. It's that simple. - Personal Experience I am having the same problem and nobody answers me and I feel like strangling them, your not in this alone with the fire wire do you hav ta install it or just plug it into somethin??????????(and i mean the hook up not da actual cable) |
