Photographers in California?


I am looking to work for professional commercial photographers in California, in a year from now. I am currently studying in commercial photography and have a lot of experience. I'm from Montreal. The only problem is I will be moving to a state where I don't know anyone. Do you have any idea where I could start besides e-mailing interesting photographers? Associations, agents, etc?
