What's proper etiquette re: providing close relatives w/at least 1 professional wedding photo reprint? |
The photographer put the pics in an online gallery where ppl can purchase reprints/enlargemts, but is it bad manners to have relatives purchase their own? What is the customary way to do it? No it is not bad manners at all. They are YOUR wedding pictures...not your family's. If they want pictures they should order their own ! When I was married (almost 18 years ago), we had photos taken. We kept the negatives and the proof book. For Christmas, we sent all the relatives (and there were a lot) a nice photo of everyone on the altar. Everyone was happy. I am from a big family, so there are a lot of wedding photos of all 6 of us! I suggest you let everyone know the photos are available on line if anyone wants to buy some. You will send everyone a copy of the "big" family portrait- (maybe a 4 x 6) in the Christmas cards this year. Maybe a nice photo of you and your new husband for both parents? (again a 4 x 6). How's that? I guess it depends on how much money you are willing to spend on photos. It can get expensive! It is customary to provide the parents of the bride and groom one wedding picture each, but any additional pictures should be purchased by the requesting relatives or friends. |
