How much does a really good professional type camera cost? |
Something a good photographer would use. Is the Canon Rebel XT any good? Rebel XT was never considered to be a Professional. Professional series for Canon would be. 1D Mark II N 1Ds Mark II 1D Mark III approx. 8K USD Nikon Professional would be. D2H 4.3KUSD D2Hs 5KUSD D2X -i forgot D2Xs 6KUSD i am personally using 1D Mark II and D2H for my work.... Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras are what the professional photographers use when shooting digital images. While the Rebel is positioned price wise at the Pro-Am level, many pros use it as a back up body. The truly "professional" digital SLR cameras start at about $3500 and go up from there. No lenses are included in the cost of these cameras. Editorial, sports and glamour photographer I don't know the Cannon, but my Sony student photo-class camera was $700. A good photographer can use a less expensive camera as long as the resolution is where he wants it, and the lenses are distortion free. The weight and ease of using the box side of it counts a lot, as does its ability to accept accessories. Lets begin by dispelling a myth which will hopefully save you some money. A professional camera doesn't make a good photographer. That said the Canon Rebel is an excellent camera for a begining photographer or serious amature however it isn't a professional camera. This is not to say that you cannot make some stunning images with this camera. The camera does in fact have a lot of features which are standard on professional cameras which gives the photographer a lot of control over the image making process. The downside is that it isn't a very rugged camera. a year ago, for my nikon d70 with a lense, sb600, bag, extra compact flash cards, and tax, i paid $1600. i've shot weddings, portraits, album covers, etc. i'm not sure what "pro" cameras cost 3K but there's no reason you have to spend that much money to get good photos. nikon's and canons will both produce good images. the most important thing is who's taking them. |
