Wedding Photography?

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place for this, but I'm desperate! I am in the process of finding a photography for my wedding in July of 2007. Everyone's prices are absolutely outrageous and I'm on a strict budget. All I want is the photgrapher and a copy of a CD with all of the pictures on it. If there are any non-professional or professional photographers out there serving Michigan, please let me know. If you could provide prices and a website if you have any and a way to contact you that would be awesome. Thanks so much!!!!

I specialize in landscape photography, but I have covered events for work several times. I think I am ready to do a wedding for free just to see where I am up to.

*Sigh*

I live in Australia though. Fly me there and put me up and the rest is yours for free. ;-)

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
I did my niece's free, but I turned down her friend. It is too much work if you do it as I did it.
Sounds like fun, too bad Michigan is too far for me. As for getting copies on CD, most photographers wont do that because they make their money from the prints and giving you a CD would be like giving you the negatives.

I used to do wedding professionally, however, they are usually just one big headache.
Make sure they shoot digital and use Photoshop to enhance your photos. And don't cheap out too much... you will regret it.
I do wedding photography in Utah, what's your budget? I would do it for free if we could work out flight arrangements... Good Luck.

As someone already said by asking for the CD with all of the pictures you are asking for a lot and you can expect to pay for it unless you find an amatuer willing to do it for the experience. I promise you a professional won't just give that away. That being said just remember that this is a one-shot deal and there are no retakes. I have a cousin who tried to cheap out on her photography and had a relative do it. Guess what? She has absolutely no pictures of her wedding day other than what other guests provided her with. The camera malfunctioned and lost everything. I promise you that everyone you ask knows someone that this happened to. A true professional has a back-up of everything to prevent this kind of tragedy. This isn't to say that there aren't a thousand talented people out there looking for their first break but it is a risk you will be taking. I know you said you are on a strict budget but remember, you get what you pay for.
