Finding the perfect photographer? |
How can I find one? I'm looking for a professional, not an amateur or student. I wasn't impressed with the resources at theknot.com, and I don't know anyone who's been married recently in my area that I could ask for recommendations. What's the best way to go about this? Ask your other vendors. Ask the reception site for names, ask the florist. You can also ask the local shop that does professional development if they know of anyone who can help you. Put an ad on craigslist of what you want and see if you get any satisfactory nibbles. Why does it matter if they are a student/amature as long as they do a great job? ask the other people you have hired, church, reception, DJ, florist, etc for recomendations. Im telling you, theknot.com has some of the best. Thats how I found mine and he was awesome. The only other thing I can tell you is to google it. Even look in surrounding cities. I live in Greensboro , NC and I looked to smaller cities surrounding and found my in Winston Salem. Smaller cities/towns usually have cheaper prices. And you can always ask your friends/co workers who they used. And they can even tell you who not to use!!! Start looking around at photographers, get pricing and visit with them. Look at some work they have done. Any good photographer has been in the area for awhile and anyone you know that got married in the last 5-10 years even could tell you. There must be at least somebody you know who's dealt with a professional photographer recently....even if it's just for senior pics or a family pic. That's the best way to go! |
