Photographer & Model communication? |
i got this small photoshoot to do tomorrow. But im not a professional at this yet. What do u actually say to ur model if u both dont really know what ur doing. Eventho i got some ideas in my head, i dont know how to tell my model how to express herself except from "feel confident" and " be yourself". Any more suggestions?? If you both don't really know what you're doing, then don't worry too much. A good shoot is a collaboration between the model and the photographer -- just be relaxed, and be willing to talk it over with your model or even ask them for advice. Be upfront about how you haven't done this before. "Imagine you are sleeping!", "Imagine you are climbing a mountain" etc. move arm left, up, lean to the side, etc. just ask them to keep moving around a little bit so they dont get cramps, that will help the shoot last longer, and you'll have a better chance of nailing the shot than if they hold perfectly still for a prolonged time. personal experience you are the director and they are your chunk of clay. look around and see what works. don't know if you are in a studio, a park or a bedroom so I can't be more specific. look around for things in the general area to use as props. a tree to frame her/him. whaever's handy. more? email me Just relax. That helps your model to relax and make it easier for her/him to follow your directions or pose themselves. |
