Should I buy Paint Shop Pro XI???? |
I wanted to buy a photo editing program like PhotoShop CS2, but it is very expensive. My friend uses PSP XI and uses it for all his photo editing. I want a program that matches up closest to the PhotoShop program for a less expensive price? I am not a professional photographer so i dont think i really need a fancy program like PhotoShop. I just want to be able to do things like selective color, blemish remover, and color enhancers (for make-up effects) and other cool photo editing features. So i guess what i am really asking is should I buy Paint Shop Pro XI or are there other programs that are better than this...for a reasonable price??? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!! Paintshop Pro can do many of the same things as Photoshop with the main differences being around how it handles color space (not something you need to worry about if you are not a pro). It is much more powerful than the scaled down version of photoshop known as Photoshop Elements and is actually a bit cheaper than elements. I actually use both Paintshop X and Photoshop CS2 during my post processing. I use Photoshop for all of my basic post processing, but for certain tasks (mainly when I am working on portraits) I use Paintshop since for me, there are certain tools (the warp brush, teeth whitener and blemish remover) that seem to be easier to use in paintshop. One word of caution, however, if you do buy paintshop, you may want to get version 10 (Paintshop Pro X) instead of the new release (version 11). Version 11 has more features, but I have found that it runs very slowly on my year old AMD X2 3800+ HP machine despite 1GB of RAM and huge disk caches (it runs slower than PS CS2, anyway). go to isohunt.com and you'll get a torrent of Photoshop CS2. You'll love CS2 over PSP. I promise you. YES IT IS GREATTTTT Nothing will match photoshop. Photoshop has many add-ons which make it extremely powerful like noise nija.
