What type of pictures should I take to put in my photo album? |
I wanna be a professional photographer when I get older and for christmas im asking for a new upgraded camera, so starting January 1st I wanna take pictures and put them in my photo book, all the way until 2009. Should I take a picture of trees, people, rooms? Or just anything I want to? It's always best to stick with what interests you most and what you like most. Find what you feel passinate about - that'll be what you'll do best. Here take a look what the pros are doing. http://www.blackbook.com BTW we don't call them photo albums ... they are what we call our "books" and they contain both photos and tear sheets. If your are pursuing a career in photography, you may want to be very clear on what subjects you are going to specialize shooting. The subject will determine the size and type camera you will be using as your primary camera. For instance you don't see 4x5 cameras at sporting events ... usually Editorial, sports and glamour photographer put photos in your album or portfolio for those hung up words which speak to your soul. Being hung up on words isnt a bad thing it's your words people will base their impressions on as much as your work so develop some good words in order to speak about your work in the best possible way. The photos which move you which stir emotion in you have the highest probability of selling to others. If you dont care about what you are doing why would anyone else; first impress yourself. Dont worry too much about following the crowd and doing what they have done if you find a technique which is uniquely you you will be far ahead of the game.Rocky Gunn was one heck of a wedding photographer we just lost him far too early. I would shoot 2 books. 1st I would shoot anything and everything you want and put into this book categorically landscapes with landscapes people with people and so on. when this book is full get some opinions of your work. Ask for an opinion overall and which style of photo did you do best on (ask your local JC Prof and or local photographers). When you have all of this done take which ever style is best and fill the 2nd book with that style of photos. |
