Help making 'feature' band photo' in photoshop? Ideas wanted? |
I want to make a real dramatic/artsy photo for some friends in a local rock band called 'devilution' I am a professional photographer, but focus on photojournalism more than this type of work. I havent taken the photo i want to edit in photoshop yet, because i havent came up with an idea of what to do. Looking for ideas as specific or vague as they might be. I will post the finished project on my flickr page. I am sorry this question is so unclear, but honestly i dont know how i want to approach it, hence me turning to a forum. we work with a lot of bands and we either do graphics or photos. If we take a band photo into photoshop to do any work with it we usually are laying in a more interesting background and or doing some interesting color edits. I would focus more on getting that perfect band pic. Are you planning to take a pic at a show or of the band during a shoot. If it is a shoot then you have more room to play with it in photshop with backgrounds and coloration that could give it some real pop depending on the subject style. If it is a pic of them during performance I would just aim for a great photo and do minimal enhancement in photoshop just to make sure the shot is clean and the lighting is appropriate. Try checking out some other bands inthe same genre on myspace and see what they have posted up, it will probably give you a better feeling for where you want to go with it all |
