Photography career? |
how do i become a professional photographer? College 100%. I personally took photography classes through the Fine Arts program at my local college. There's a lot to learn, so i reccomend starting at your local college even if you think you know a lot, and then apprentice w/ a professional who can show u the tricks of the trade, but you need to know what you're doing first. I wish it was just as simple as pointing and shooting! If you go one step further and get into the Fine Arts program you will have a chance to display your work. You will have year end exhibitions where the public are welcome to visit, and you will have a chance to possibly show you're work in an Art Gallery as well. Your teachers will also get you leads on who to talk to in the business. Good luck! Source(s): http://web.ubc.ca/okanagan/welcome.html... There are a lot of good community colleges with photo departments. Start there. You may also contact local studios. Their jobs may not be glamorous but they will give you experience. Buy a good digital camera i agree with the San Diego dude. take some classes and get into the work. there is a lot to know when it comes to photography so if your going to do it make sure you love it because it can also be expensive. Hi, I am not a pro photographer but have many friends who are as I used to be a reporter.... You start by: - Deciding what sort of professional photographer do you want to become. What do you want to specialize in? - Then who is the best in the market in this area? If I would you, I would go and learn from the best and try to work for this man while I learnt from him and picked up photography skills. - And then you also gain experience to create good portfolios.. and in time to come, jobs will come in through word of mouth. Good luck! ;) |
